Proceeds to benefit
Rotary Club of Berkeley Heights Good Causes:
The Rotary Club of Berkeley Heights
is a not-for-profit group of local businesspeople, business owners,
and professionals who come together to serve our community in fellowship
and fun. We were founded in 1966 as part of
Rotary International, the
world’s oldest service organization. Our motto is Service Above Self.
Here are some of the things we give and do around town…
- Academic & Service Scholarships
to Governor Livingston HS seniors, every year.
- Sponsoring the 100-member,
award-winning GLHS InterAct student service club,
- With our Interact Club, cleaning up
Sandy Hook beaches at the annual Beach Sweep Project,
- Supporting GLHS Project
Graduation, annually,
- Rotary Youth Leadership Award
annual scholarship,
- Managing our 19-year-old
Medic-Alert program for over 100 area solo seniors,
- Giving Student Dictionaries
to every Berkeley Heights 3rd-grader, every year,
- Supporting the YMCA’s Strong Kids
program,
- Helping Cub Scout packs, Boy
Scout troops, and Girl Scout troops that together serve nearly
1,000 local youth throughout the year, including presenting
Certificates of Achievement to Boy Scouts who earn the Eagle Scout
rank and to Girl Scouts who earn the Gold Award,
…and our members individually contribute
to the American Cancer Society Relay For Life.
Recently, we rolled up our sleeves, got out our paint brushes, and
rehabilitated our township’s only conference room from top to bottom!
Then we gave our Police dispatchers new
window treatments.
Our club also contributes annually to the
Rotary International
“Polio Plus” initiative,
which is on the cusp of wiping out Polio world-wide, and also to our
newest
global endeavor:
Pure
Water for the World:
H2O = Health, Hope and Opportunity
.
The Rotary Club of
Berkeley Heights is a Presidential Citation club, now in its 43rd year
of service.
